Journey to the Terrain Park

Throughout my life I have been a skier. From the time I was 5 years old I have been improving my skills, and as a skier in general. It was not until 2021 when I discovered the terrain park, and found a style of skiing that would become my passion. I remember seeing cool videos on my social media of skiers doing cool tricks that I wanted to learn myself. I saw all of the jumps and rails below me on the mountain and I knew then that I wanted to become a park skier. At first, I tries to straight air jumps and hit rails. My first few times hitting the jumps I did not get enough speed and landed in the flat knuckle. It took me a few times to build the courage to clear the whole jump properly. Learning in the terrain park was not easy as it came with plenty of falls and tumbles on the snow. The next year, in 2022, I wanted to start learning tricks. I started learning flips on the trampoline such as spins and backflips. was eager to try a backflip on snow, and that year I tried it on skis, landing it my second try. From the time I landed that backflip, I knew I wanted to pursue park skiing and make it my passion. With training and many days riding the terrain park I was able to land an advanced trick called the cork 720 in 2023. All it took was some dedication and training and I was able to accomplish a trdic k on skis I never thought I would be able to do.
